Birdsong

A poem inspired by walking meditations, and by memories, love and loss. The unique collection of ‘books’ has been made from found objects from the landscape, such as feathers and moss. The words are bound into black and white feathers using silver wire, pearls, black pearls and coral beads. The feathers nestle in a bird nest which I have made with silver wire: the nest is woven with moss and twigs collected on walks, along with fabrics treasured by my daughter. There are four small boxes that complement the bird’s nest. Each box is handmade and is filled with moss, cradling snatches of conversations that are bound into small delicate feathers

“No bird soars too high if he soars with his own wings”

— William Blake
